Ezgo 36v series Dvm readings
2001 ezgo 36v series... no go. Solenoid clicks. DVM readings across B- and -M @ the controller are only 1.5 v, shouldn't this be close to pack voltage?

Re: Ezgo 36v series Dvm readings
When pedal is pushed only far enough for the solenoid to click, you should read full battery pack voltage between B- and M- terminals on controller.
If you don't you have an open (or high resistance) in the high current loop. Here is a schematic with the high current circuit highlighted. Leave the negative test lead connected to B- and go searching for the missing voltage. With a series drive system, chances are high the problem is in the F/R switch contacts. |

Re: Ezgo 36v series Dvm readings
Glad you found and fixed it.
Do your cart and yourself a favor and replace all 13 of the high current cables with 4Ga or heavier. The cables should be constructed with high strand count (600+) copper conductor welding cable. The terminal lugs should be the enclosed end type with no exposed wiring and the gap between the lug and insulation should be sealed air tight. |

Re: Ezgo 36v series Dvm readings
hi guys! been a while! just wanted to say hi... and I recently installed Scotty's cable upgrade kit 4ga. Nice cables and even though I had 4ga on almost everything there was a smaller cable(forgot which one) in the control box. Anyways I can feel the difference!!
Anyways great cables.. oh and I installed Scotty's DMV on the dash... works and looks great. |
