Headlight - something unusual
I have projector assemblies, matching HID kits and now am trying to figure out how to mount them.
The cart currently has LED bulbs in plastic landscape lighting (spotlight) units. I installed them before painting so the look like they are original. Not looking to remove those, as they make cool running lights (they can run as a halo ring or full on) and I am now thinking I want the projectors behind glass. I have a dual headlamp assembly from a motorcycle that I wonder if I can make fit (obviously I'll split the units apart). The angle of the reflector doesn't matter as I can mount the projectors at the "correct" angle when I cut the back off. First I'm going to make a template off the lenses to see if there's a place on the body that they will blend into. Has anyone here done anything similar? ..a |

Re: Headlight - something unusual
I've had HID's in my bikes for years, and installing projectors in the housing is pretty common. The reflector on the projectors is metal.

.. but aren't bright enough to see very far ahead at night. The new HID projectors will be capable of being turned off.

I put the lenses back over them so they look a little cleaner.. I'll not be putting the bike unit in as I'd hoped. I made a mold of the front glass, and there's nowhere I can fit it to get the correct angle for projecting ahead. It would fit here, but the light would be angled at least 45-degrees up. I'm thinking I might put "buggy" style spots just under the roof, instead.. |
