I grew up on the coast, and anything that small is just bait. Dunno 'bout freshwater fish.

I have fished fresh water, and salt on both coasts and the gulf......but I have a three or four large ponds within the neighborhood I live in, so on any given day, If I have a hankering to, I can pick up my rod, tackle box, and hop in the cart and within 3 blocks of my house......I am FISHING!!!

Just joshin'.

We have a community lake that is fed by septic tank leach fields.

I have no problem eatin' fish that live in dookie water, as that's natural and organic. It's just the antifreeze and paint thinner that folks pour down their drains.

LOL I knew that......ours are, throughout the golf course/neighborhood are fed from a near by river and are all connected together, as they are all man-made. but were stocked many many years ago, and now have plenty of Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish in them......lots of fun, and within walking distance or a short cart ride.

We're dangerously close to drifting off-topic.

I grew up eating fish, shrimp, crab, and oysters that lived south of the Savannah River nuclear facility. And here I thought the phosphorescent plankton was kewl. It had a strangely similar color of the tritium I have in my garage.

As long as fishing is a legitimate purpose for using your buggy...
