The reason i am trying to separate the batteries from the carts motor batteries is i need all the power possible to drive this thing. it has a 6" lift, 25 inch tires and 48V.
I'm assuming both batteries are the same amp hour.

Is it possible one of your two batteries is draining the "good" one? Have you tried just one battery? It sounds like you have run the loads with the two individually, but the batteries die when both are in parallel. If both seem to work separately but not when in parallel, you can either buy a bigger battery, or run two separate accessory circuits, but you'd have to charge them separately.

I think rated amp hours on deep cycle batteries take us WAY below the SOC we're comfortable running.

well if you look back to the OP.....he was using 2 small 12v batteries that he uses to run deer feeders, not normal deep cycle batteries.
