Broken Pin Rad-Sock
Picked up a new to me cart with a pin from a plug broken off in the radsock - I can not get a plug from another good charger (I have 3 others ) to plug in because the old pin is stuck in the receptacle.
The initial look and poking with needle nose pliers was unsuccessful at removing the blockage, which is why the previous owner rigged it by cutting off the old plug and putting spring clamps on the wires Doing my home work here to shorten my learning curve before I tear into the socket. Looks like a bit of a PITA if I have to replace the socket, drilling out rivets etc, plus they are a bit pricey. Couldn't find anything with search. Anybody deal with this? I'm thinking easy outs or drilling and tapping the broken pin then pulling it out with a screw, but that is also a PITA... TIA Last edited by KY Gun Geek; 11-21-2013 at 11:26 AM.. Re: Broken Pin Rad-Sock
You'll probably have to remove it either way, replace or repair.. I was thinking of a small hole on the back side with and ice pick to push it out? No idea if contacts would be in the way to drill a small hole or not.

Re: Broken Pin Rad-Sock
Disconnect your battery pack, take out the three small screws on the inside portion of the receptacle, (put a small bucket or dish to catch the nuts on the bottom side) and you can unscrew the lead to the terminal and it will come right out the top of the housing. You then can get to the back of the terminal and use a small punch to tap out the broken pin. Do Not try to turn the pin! There are several very delicate conductors inside of that terminal! I honestly think that this was the worst engineering feat that EZGO did! You can get new pins and terminals.

Re: Broken Pin Rad-Sock
KY Gun Geek, if you do decide to replace the whole receptacle, I'd like to buy your old one. Just let me know.

Re: Broken Pin Rad-Sock
I'm looking forward to it, too. I got a new ignition switch, an F&R switch and new 4 gauge wires to put in!
