98 TXT Rear Leaf Spring
I'm in the middle of a restoration due to a rusted out frame and I'm putting all the pieces back together. Since the rear axle, leafs ect were separated to be cleaned and painted, I'm wondering what the proper way of putting them all back together is. All the videos I see talk about removing/replacing on side of leafs at a time. What do you have to do different if both sides are removed. Does the axle/shock plate look like its angled back too much?

Re: 98 TXT Rear Leaf Spring
It looks to me that it is too far back. It would be easier to see if the photo were right side up. But, looking at it, it appears the front retaining bolts are much closer to the axle than the rear ones. I would put the cart on four level jack stands then loosen the retaining bolts on both sides and use the weight of the axle to help center it. You could further check by finding a point, on both sides of the frame, to measure from. Preferably near the front axle. Measure both the longitudinal distance and the cross frame distance. They should be the same for each side. Then lock it down. Maybe someone else has done this and found a better way. But, first thought, that's what I come up with.
