Don't sit in the seat and grab the stubborn steering wheel with both hands at 9 and 3 and pull mightily once you remove the nut. Mine suddenly let go and I literally broke the skin on the bridge of my nose and had swelling for a week. Wish I knew about the 2x4 trick...
