2008 Precedent IQ 48 Volt (4 X 12)
I recently bought the cart used, charged the batteries and checked batteries with a Hydrometer - all checked good and in the green.
When I hit the pedal, the cart will start moving after about 5 seconds.(The regen braking does beep when pushed. I have installed the 2 pole magnet.) According to GPS 16 MPH is the top speed on flat ground. I do not have a lot of torque going up hill. It seems all it can do to climb a incline on the property. (I have 2 2008 Precedent IQ's. The other has no problem at all climbing the same hill. Never grunts). It is using the top hat sensor so is not a GE motor. The delay starting is in forward and reverse. Any idea what is going on and where to start checking? I am at the end of my rope. Thanks!! |

Re: 2008 Precedent IQ 48 Volt (4 X 12)
I would say that it is the batteries. What kind of hydrometer did you use. Hopefully it wasn't the one with the 3 balls inside. What are your battery voltages? Individually and across the entire pack. When you are charging your batteries and the current drops to 5 amps are all the cells in all the batteries bubbling? Finally what kind of batteries do you have installed? O yea what speed code do you have on the cart.

My 2008 would do 19.2 stock with larger tires.

. . . if you changed out the magnet and are only getting 16mph, something is definitely wrong . . . stock speed code 4 is 19.6mph . . .

Well, When you dont see past the end of your nose, with Simpson 260's and tripletts laying everywhere, looking at the hardest rather than the simplest...... It boils down to this ---- 3 batteries 12 volts and one 8 volts!!! Looks like a trip for a battery!! OUCH!!!
Thanks for the replies and bringing a hard head back to earth!! Last edited by radar485; 10-24-2014 at 11:37 AM.. Reason: spelling |

The latest to the saga - Finally got around to getting the battery and it is working exactly as Club Car designed.... Funny how one battery would cause so much confusion!! Thanks for all the help!
