Default g16 axle issues

Well just in the process of finishing up my g16 . As I have been doing this build I have noticed it's had a hard life here at a local golf course. Well I'm on to the rear axle bought a whole new driven clutch with performance spring and am going to replace fluid in axle. Synthetic or not ? Also my governor shaft coming out of the axle housing has about of 1/4.inch of play and leaking is it fixable or new axle time ?

How hard is it to rebuild I have rebuilt rear ends in cars and trucks. But this looks like a completely different animal.

Part #10 is the gov shaft, and #49 is an oil seal. Not sure if the seal is replaceable without dis-assembly. Synthetic is good, remove the cover to drain. No gasket, use RTV blue. Fill thru the rubber plug.

Here's a look inside the trans. You can see the gov shaft behind the broken input shaft.
