Default 2006 st 4x4 issues

Hi Guys, I'm not much of a wrench head. I'm a carpenter, lol.

Two things, they might be related?

The voltage meter jumps around;new it held just shy of 50% now it sits just above the red. The connection at the voltage regulator has some corrosion and had to jump one wire past it. I have added lights, plow, and winch but without using them it sits just above the red but with to indication why jumps back to 50% then drops again a time later.

Stalling; it starts, it idles once its warmed but only after a few minutes at WOT it stalls out. It will start immediately and the cycle starts over. I noticed that when I have the seat up and watching the throttle assembly and at WOT it seems as though the trans kicks the governor on and looses power and stalls?

Its only got a few hundred hours but used good.

Any ideas would help.

Thanks, Jeff

OK, I get the message.

GX610 four stroke Honda Engine. I can't find the serial number where the manual says it should be (near the starter), maybe its behind it?

I did order a voltage regulator from a local Honda dealer as I've got an issue with the wiring there. It will be here next week.

Fuel lines checked, new fuel filter, new air filter, carb was gone over. The battery has been tested and is good.

In reading other threads; would it be a valve adjustment?

see attached pictures should they be of help.

Jeff, you may have better luck posting in the big block section. I haven't heard many folks in this section talking about the honda power plant.

I did find this:

I was able to locate this repair guide which may help you to figure out whats going on with the engine. It seems to have a really good trouble shooting flow chart.

Thank you sir.

I had the buggie manuals but not the engine service one, thanks. Plus now I have them on my laptop which I didn't before.

I was looking for low hanging fruit however this will go a long way. My machine isn't pretty but its a brute and hope to get it moving again soon.

I'll check those other treads.

Tks
