Default Robin (EZ GO) Billet rods, hardened crankshaft?? Cams?.

Sorry I had dropped off the map for several years. I was building a cart with the assistance of Fast Fred before his passing. It was a workhorse with a 350 (1999) Robin Engine.
You may say I just dropped the ball, since he was the only person that really showed interest.
Fred built a custom head and we carberated it with a Walbro, changed to an MSD ignition to defeat the stock RPM limiter. It has a 28 degree Clutch and the torque spring in the drive clutch. I put a Zemco header on it and an UNI air filter. It is also equipped with an oil temp and rpm gage. Massive porting was done by a master machinist and boat engine builder, Fred Bolling. It has 22x10-10 all terrain tires and will go faster when we put on a light wheel or remove the bed.. At about 5500 rpm, I have experienced a couple knocks in the low end, but has caused no damage. It has the heavy SS valves, heavier springs and I was wondering if anyone had developed this engine any further in the last three years. Mine will push a workhorse up a grade and gain speed. I'm looking for BILLET or rods that will accept a bearing. I can have the crankshaft hardened locally. Are there better 350 rods available? It burns 112 octane race fuel as designed by the engineer.

Thanks in advance for any information. Tonyton

Sounds like a cool project! I haven't seen an EZGO-specific billet rod, and low demand likely will keep it from happening. I'm almost certain that rods from another application could be adapted, though.

I'll have to look in the go cart engines and start with the stroke., then pin sizes etc. If I find anything, I'll pass it on. Thanks.
