Default Re: 2 Different Electronic Component Hook Up&Wiring ??

Your over thinking this send ground straight to ground not through switch send send yellow wire straight to power source and then either get a two pin rocker switch or find witch two pins have continuity on the three pin and connect the red wire from head unit to one pin and the other to the battery on one of the two pins that have continuity when switch is turn on.... If all three have continuity when the switch is on get a two pin so you don't have an extra pin sticking out that's "hot"

I think the switch to ground connection he is referring to is for the switch "light indicator".

If that is the case, his wiring description was correct.

Let me try saying it this way:

There are 3 wires on the back of HU Red/Black/Yellow

I ran the Yellow all the way to the fuse block.
I ran the Black all the way to the grounding block.
I have the Red wire dangling there.

I have a 3 Pin Illuminated Rocker Switch. Says 12+, ACC, 12-.....

Where/How do I connect the switch?

I was going to run wire from the 12+ to the yellow wire and tap into it.
I was going to run wire from the 12- to the black wire and tap in to it.

And lastly connect the ACC to the dangling Red wire.

Thank you guys!

No like I said your over thinking this tapping into the yellow wire for power will work now disregard the - + on the switch you need to find witch two pins have continuity while switch is on then connect wire coming from the power source to one pin and connect the red wire coming from head unit to the other of the two pins so when you flip the switch on it will send power to the head unit telling it to turn on.... Now if all three pins have continuity while the switch is on I'd go with a 2 pin so there isn't an extra live pin hanging

That is correct

Spicyunicorn, he has an "illuminated switch", it needs negative for the LED in the switch.

For the 4.5v thingy, I would just run it on 5v. I'm quite sure it will survive. I would use a cheap car to USB phone charger, or a "lm7805" regulator. They are super cheap also, and super easy to hook up. 3 terminals, B+, B-, and 5v+ out.

Thanks. I didn’t even consider a usb charger for voltage.
Maybe next time. Already spent $4 on the buck converter haha
