Default only runs with choke

my 1986 yamaha G1 is running only if you feather the choke?? Have done this to it so far. Replaced crank seal ( clutch side) Reed valve gasket, new carb, fuel filter, gas drained, new spark plug. A mechanic said that it sucks harder when muffler is off??? Any help is much appreciated!!!

Why didn't you replace fly wheel side seal? Very well could be your problem

100 lbs compression is the minimum for an 89, should be 120+. Did you check at wide open throttle? I'd replace the flywheel side crank seal.
