Default g2 couple questions

g2 gas with pod filter, 22"s, probally a untuned driven clutch with stronger spring, and jet has probably been opened up. I get up to 25 mph downhill while i can get 18 mph up the hill and around 20-22 mph on flat ground, cart really takes off. Problem is when you first start it the throttle response is noticeably lower and its seems like a waste to go over half throttle. Will only get to around 15 mph or so. Wondering if this is just how these engines are or if its because the modded air filter or something else, maybe i need to check the spark plug(sorry just thought of it right now).

second question is i had a oil leak at the suction of the engine fan, i think it is because the tee is right there and nothing was hooked up to it, as in i think the hose that hooks to the air box was unhooked. I took hose and hooked it up there and ran it right next to the air filter. i will later hook it up into the intake elbow but for temporary will this work?

Cart used to have 50hp motorcycle engine and i converted back to original engine so somethings might be missing and i keep working on it, such as the hook to keep the engine from moving too far backwards, ill be installing something for that soon.

thanks

Sorry buddy, I'm having trouble with your terminology. Here are a couple pictures that may help you figure it out!! You can kinda see the T (below the one way valve) connecting with the pulse line, in this picture. The T connects the fuel pump and the one way valve!!

If you use the car off-road, I'd get a stock air box to start with.

Then make sure the secondary has a "Umax" spring, and spacer (behind the spring seat). Condition of both clutches is important for a good running car!!

If the motor you put in does not have ALL the ignition components of a G2, it will have running problems.

It's also imperative, that you stop the oil leak, oil and dirt stick to the engine cooling fins, and not allow it to cool itself!!

Okay the first picis the tee i am talking about. I left it empty and ran the pulse line off the top valve cover line as shown in the second pic. I tried the tee for the pulse line first and it wouldnt start, then tried the valve cover line and it fired right away. Should i try to flip these around?

I cant run the factory box, it does not fit with my lift, brake lines get in the way from the dropped swing arm.

Everything is factory except the airbox.

Thanks for the help

Its important that the lines on the side be run as they originally were to ensure proper oiling of the rockers & top end components. The tee goes to the port on the front of the block, the pulse line on the fuel pump, and the valve on the passenger side of the valve cover.

did it and it still runs.

could the valves need adjustment and they tighten up and make it run better after engine gets warm?

Valves should be .004 cold usually.
That carb will have to be jetted up to run that filter. If you put the choke on slightly at WOT will it run better? If so the main is too small.

The pulse line is very short, goes to that tee in front of it, bottom from front of block and top to inline valve and up to rocker on left side. I don't know if you have the valve, its like an egr valve in a car.

The two G9 I played with ran 27 with governor all the way in, 30 on pavement with no governor, and it took a while to get that speed, and ran 22s with 14psi rear 8 psi front. Smaller 22s will do less, tire size varies and these measure 23.
