Default 92 Ds resistor on oil light

Have a 92 Ds doing a rebuild looking at wiring diagram trying to figure out why is there a resistor in line with the oil light. Is the light rated at less then 12 volts? I know its a low level oil indicator. Which is turned on with low oil switch so why the resistor.
Just wanted to know
Thanks

Now THAT... is a really good question!

The first thing I thought when I read your post was... "What resistor?"
so, I poured through a bunch of different wiring diagrams that I have, (from 85 through 2010, including 1992)
and none of them show a resistor in line with the indicator light!

Then I thought I'd check the "Stickies"... and sure enough, there it is!

I'm not sure where Roady got that diagram, but, I'm pretty sure that CC gassers don't have a resistor for the indicator light.
(at least to my knowledge... so don't quote me!)

Hey Lockman attached is a picture of light with resistor The reason I was asking is that the wire coming out the resistor broke off. I checked the light and it appears to be burnt. Ohm'ed it out no continuity I then put 12 v to it nothing. Need to get a replacement oil light and was trying to figure why is there a resistor in the line
Thanks

So, I have the exact same thing on my 1990 Carryall 2. Found during a rebuild, and need to decide to just by-pass or not. What did you do?, or anyone can add suggestions.

Are you implying that’s for electric carts?

Just kidding thought that looked funny
