Default 00 ds rear end problem

Had the common whining in the rear end popped it apart changed the input shaft bearings. Put it together and the cart wont move. Take it apart to find i pressed the bearings to tight and the forward/reverse gears wont turn. so unpress 1 bearing a little and get everythng spining again but when i reassemble same issue. Everything spins fine in neutral but when you try forward or reverse the whole rear end locks up and the motor wont spin it. Trying by hand its very hard to turn forward but it will spin the oposite way with ease. Ive had it apart multiple times and im about to just find another rear end im getting so frustrated

Something didn't get put back together correctly on the input shaft.
Did you replace anything else other than the bearings? the plastic thrust washers? Spring washers?

You don't need a new/different differential- it just needs to be put back together correctly.

If you insist on doing it yourself- take it apart one more time and be very diligent about putting it back together. Take it slow. It should turn freely before you put it back in the car.
Last resort-take it to a shop and have they put it back together. Id say maybe 100 bucks if you just drop the diff at a shop loose.

If that plastic thrust washer is melted, make sure you replace it.

Also make sure there are three thrust washers. I bought two rear ends that had only 2 when I opened them up. The 3rd thrust washer disintegrated in both of them.
