So I bought G1 "scorched earth"
Picked this up for parts today and named her accordingly. The frame is shot! And it's a j17 to top it off.....
Has the top frame I wanted, was hoping the dang thing had hand rails. Still need to find a good exhaust and a primary |

Re: So I bought G1 "scorched earth"
Picked clean. Man this thing was roached. shocks leaking oil, holes in the frame and swing arm. the rear bumper mounting had rotted off and they made a decent bracket and remounted it, if I had torches id probably have cut off.
got some replacement front end parts my g1 may need when I straighten out the home made lift situation. looks like the coil wires had rubbed and grounded out, all melty looking. terrible to say I cant test compression as I lent out my tester. I am going to use the front cowl as mine has been cut into for headights that are in rough shape. |

Hey we're you talking about the rails on the side and back of the seats? If so pm me in the process of parting one out to.

You need a sawsall, I have a $30 one and with good blades I can chop up 1/4" steel. Tubing is no problem once you get the hang of running one. They can be very handy.
Wow is that poor thing rusty! |

Re: So I bought G1 "scorched earth"
I tried a compression test and it was all over the place. At this point the condition is unknown until I get time to dig deeper. This thing was rough had I paid better attention I should have paid less.

I just put the comet duster 94c in and is working good so far. If you lift your cart it will clear the frame with the cover off.
