Default Here I go Again (96 G14)

Well couldn't help myself and pulled the trigger on this "Craigslist Treasure" lol
20170818_173529.jpg 20170818_173626.jpg

What in the world am I going to do with this one? Besides the obvious VC460.
I am running out of ideas. I don't know if I want to do another big lift cart.

Currently accepting all suggestions.

Could someone please give me a ride to the next GC Anonymous.

I knew I should have double checked vin before starting thread. Guy said it was a 96 G14 oh well that's what I get for buying off craigslist lol. I did talk him down to $900 so that's not to bad for any running driving cart in this area.

Initial Quick Inspection:
20170818_194312.jpg20170818_194338_001.jpg20170818_194402.jpg

Quite a bit of surface rust. Nothing poking through with the ice pick test so frame is solid so far. Probably will get this one blasted just looks like to much time with a wire wheel
Some spaghetti wiring but nothing I cant handle after I get it stripped down
Suspension is worn out and will be upgraded
Engine is tired and will be replaced with a VC460 (looks like I get to put one in backwards)
Ran out of daylight before I could locate ser.# (forgot where they were on that model) I will locate it in the morning and run the numbers.
It looks like a good project so far. When I am done it will be mechanically a new cart.

Yup - that's a G2 --- you can find the serial number on the very back of the frame down by the hitch. That will help tell you what year it really is. Looks good for a donor cart. You've done the lifted cart, maybe now a LowRider with 6-1 bears and 26 inch street tires. Here's a picture of a cart that impressed me a lot. Disc brakes all the way around and some monster tall tires.

Ya I really like to try a more pro-mod build on this one. I have already talked to a friend about making me some 4 lug to 5 lug adapters on his C&C machine at work. That will really open up my wheel tire combinations.
He did mention that with bigger wheels comes more weight and stress on the axles and bearings.

He did mention that with bigger wheels comes more weight and stress on the axles and bearings.
The biggest stress on wheel bearings front or rear are spacers. The wider the spacer -the more stress on the axle and bearing. I have found rims for my next build the have a 1-2 inch back set, this will eliminate my need to use my 2.5 inch spacers.
The G2 front hubs have ball bearings. I did a bearing conversion to high speed tapered bearings. Feels much more stable. The numbers for the bearing are in the thread below. If you go this route remember you need 2 seals and 2 castle nuts.
