.008 with the engine hot.

Ok. Thanks. Mine was set cold. But worth measuring hot since recreational carts probably run hotter than course carts due to duty cycle? Maybe?

He did not explain why and I didn’t ask. Was in a rush as it was quitting time for the day

What year is your cart and what exact settings did he say?
.008 for both valve lashes but a hot engine?
Did you feel any difference and any more top end with the gov bypassed?

My cart is a 2013 and yes he had me run the engine to get it hot for about 30 minutes, then with both valves fully closed at top dead center set to .008. As far as the governor bypass I actually did the whole kit all at once so not sure individually the difference it made. I can say it pulls stronger with the large tires I added and seems to run in lower gear longer (more rpm at slower speeds). My cart now tops out somewhere north of 30mph however I hit 31 and it was a bit squirrelly. Going to set the toe in as soon as I have some time as that’s supposed to fix it.

Did he have you bypass the Governor completely, Or just adjust it to the max? A buddy got off the phone with him and he was told he wasn't having him bypass it..

Bypassed mine by drilling out the spacers and spring holder that sets on top of the shaft
