Default Throttle response

Hi all. My 04 buggy project is off the ground and running. Just waiting on a few parts to finish.

One thing I have noticed is that when I accelerate it is full power or nothing at all, the throttle seems on or off.

I am coming from an electric buggy where I could have half throttle. Is half throttle possible on the gas ones? It seems to be full power until the Rev limiter kicks in?

The cart came with no governor so the accelerator cable goes directly to throttle on the carb.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Take the breather hose off the carb.. Check the carb to see if the butterfly is fully intact and functioning when you press the pedal.

Also make sure butterfly is closing all the way when you're in there inspecting it some times people crank the idle screw down thinking they are adjusting the governor and this will give an all or nothing feeling

Thanks, by breather hose do you mean the small hose on the top or the large hose that leads to the air Box?
