So, what will keep someone from just pushing it away? And then loading it on a trailer, and away they go..

I’m fortunate to have lived a long time in rural environments where we don’t worry so much about such problems. Fear of being shot is a strong deterrent. And since most folks around here are related, it’s just bad form to steal from relatives . . .

Nothing unless I see it happening.

Nobody right or wrong here. The OP asked for ideas and suggestions and opinions.

And yes, a rapid dose of lead poisoning or the fear of such prevents cart theft 100% of the time.

Agreed, same here. But I have a great pyrenees security system. In the unlikely event someone actually drives all the way off the dirt road, through the pasture and makes it to my house, they dont get to leave their car unless we say it's okay lol

Or if you're really concerned about it, there's always devices like these that work quite well. If by chance someone DOES steal it, you'll know exactly where they went and can show up with the police to escort your cart back home.

Im looking more for a motion activated beeping or siren.

Im pretty sure that kids or whoever hop onto the cart when I leave it parked at grocery store or my wife when she takes kids around corner to their homeschool science group. I now have some XX rated images on the roof of my EZ GO and came out once from Target and my left blinker was on and I am 100% positive it was not on when I left it as I looked back and checked it as I walked into store.

My go to is normally to turn the FR switch to neutral, take key out, and turn maintenance switch on (you'd be shocked how many people I've given keys to go drive cart or move it out of the way and they could get it to move and it was in neutral).
