Gas Line Freeze up
Every year during the cold weather I have problems with my gas line freezing up. Used the cart (1994 Jacobsen 810) lase week, no problems with temps above freezing.
Cart is stored outside. today temp was 9* and gas froze up. Cart started & I drove it up to garage and it stopped. Would start right away then stop using carb cleaner. I have had this problem every winter. Put some "Heet" in tank and then put lamp under seat pointing at fuel pump and lines. After about 2 hours it started & ran fine. Not sure if freeze up was in fuel pump or gas lines. Both gas & vacuum lines go from fuel pump down to frame then back up to carb & engine in a big "U" Anybody got any ideas on how to keep it from freezing up every cold spell |

Re: Gas Line Freeze up
I live in the south, so we dont get a lot of cold. But technically gas shouldnt freeze at 9°F, I'd suspect you've got contaminants in your tank (like water). Before diving too deep, I'd drain it and use ethanol free, see if that makes a difference.

Re: Gas Line Freeze up
Good idea. Never cleaned tank out so its about time. Will try the "Recreation" gas. I use it in my boat motor & have a station near by.
