CarryAll clutch buttons
I am rebuilding a drive clutch and installing new buttons. Does it make a difference on which side of the post the metal clip is placed? It's a 96 carryall with ccw rotation. Thanks

Re: CarryAll clutch buttons
Yes. Install the button spring facing toward the direction of rotation, so on a counter clockwise clutch, on the button mounting ear at the 12 o'clock position, install the spring on the left side.
Install only One spring, and install the button over it. Install the other two buttons without springs. The early clutches had a habit of sticking if using all three button springs. Club Car switched to using only one spring on the later clutches because it allows for smoother operation of the clutch. |
