1989 EZGO Marathon EC25-3pg
Hey everyone!! Love that there is groups like this to help all of us beginners! I went from an electric club car Ds to this 89 ezgo.
I’m getting ready to attempt to get my machine running better. It came from my father in law with a few issues. It had been running decent just puked gas when it was running and probably what was left in the system after we stopped riding. The wife and girls went on a long ride the other day and lost most of the power. I had a fuel shutoff in-line that I found had some pluggage in it. Changed it and the fuel filter but hasn’t helped anything yet. It still has the oil injection which I plan on possibly deleting in the future. Right now I’m focusing on possibly changing the carb/fuel pump. Thought maybe the fuel pump has a bad diaphragm causing the leaking. I’m guessing the float in the Carb could also not be set right. I’m not 100% sure where the adjustments need to be made but all for learning. The father in law messed a lot with it tying to figure out where the gas was leaking from but from reading on here it seems to be a common problem. Can anyone provide me a link with the correct carburetor and fuel pump? Any help from all of you experts would be greatly appreciated!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is your manual broken down into sections. https://app.box.com/s/3habgxrtgz
Study up on the carburetor, and then clean it real good. If your pump was leaking, the fuel would go into the crankcase. It would flood, and not run at all. You can take it apart to check. Don't buy anything until you verify bad parts. This is what the inside of the pump looks like. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=98839 Throwing parts at something without troubleshooting is called shot gunning. That's what shade tree mechanics with no troubleshooting skills do. |
