Default Electric Club Car Lights

Just installed lights on my 2005 Precedent. My question is should the lights work with the key off or do I have them wired wrong?

On factory lights on a Precedent, if your BRAKE pedal is depressed and your ignition key is ON your tail lights will remain on. Once the ignition switch is turned off your brake lights will go off as well.

Do you have a Precedent? If yes then the wires are there, just need to be pulled out once you cut out the tail light mounting hole.
