ok. so i've done a little more research. now i'm thinking: 1" jackshaft with small sprocket, slightly larger sprocket on motor pto (ratio to be calculated) pillow blocks comet clutch on opp. side of jack shaft. when i get my cart back tommorrow i'm going to check out spacing. what can go wrong? killing two birds with one jackshaft: higher speed gears, and solving '97 clockwise problem. (maybe) if it all goes really bad, i can always start over with an ezgo;) or maybe get a yamha rhino.

was browsing through the tractor supply catalog. they stock weld on sprocets hub adapters, and pillow blocks. looks like its time to think about fliping my motor around and setting up some jackshafts. cheaper than buying high speed gears to overcome the stupid clockwise to counter clockwise motor bs with the transaxel running in reverse.

Repair the original motor and you will be good to go...... prolly cost less too ?
