I remember being told 12v lights burn out sooner on 16v ... significantly sooner I dunno?

Go with the reducer, you will be glad you did
I'll have to look.... they are being distributed to dealers by Stentons. If you look in my solenoid F&R thread I have one mounted to the control box... It's the blue unit on the outside of the box.
