Default 2001 ezgo gas hill climbing problems/lift kit

Okay here we go, i have just traded my yamaha golf cart for a 2001 ezgo gas cart. I modded the governer and it runs 19.5 to 20 mph (GPS) but here is the issue when there are more than 2 people on the cart or if there is just 2 on the cart going up a hill it losses alot of speed. i read a post from before about different length belts and clutch modes but still kind of want some more HELP i am cart dumb you give me a car and i can fix and do anything to it. what should i do to mkae this so its not as bad. also i am wanting to but a lift kit and rims and tires and i know the issue will probably get worse.. 1 more thing here is a link to ebay of the lift and wheels/tires i am after does anyone know of a place to get it cheaper or from a sponsor?

http://cgi.ebay.com/5-LIFT-KIT-12-WH...item43a0c57933

please help me thanks BIG RAY

first off, what engine do you have 295cc? You can do a shorter belt, or a 28 degree clutch, but some of the gas will be later to give some more ideas. Also check with the site sponsors they can usually get a good deal plus tech support if you need it. BTW your link does not work. Good Luck

Shorter belt is the cheapest way.... A 28 deg. clutch is the most expensive. Tom at CPP can machine your existing clutch for way less than a new one. Site sponsors have all of the items you talked about above. They have combo. deals on the lift, tires and wheels so check it out. The shorter belt worked good for me on my 2000 txt with a 295. There are alot of opinions about one or the other but the belt gave me all the hill climbing power I needed. Hope this helps ya!!

Look on the side of your engine, actually your timing belt cover, there should be a white tag on it with some numbers, it should have either a 292 at the end or 350.

The shorter belt or 28 degree clutch are pretty much all ya got unless you go to a mod. 350 block with a 295 head or big block... There aint much else.

The belt is $35 and i did notice some more climbing power. I also adjusted the governor and picked up the top end speed i lost from the shorter belt plus a few extra mph.
