TahoeDawg, the Tow switch works as it should, thanks for the response. If I put a switch in the supply to the reducer I guess it would need to be able to handle 48v, is this correct ? Thanks again.

Yeah that should be fine... Voltage doesn't burn up a switch, amperage does.
