Default Yamaha g29 the drive rear tail light question help llease

Hello all

the rear tail light on my Yamaha G29 OEM light kit burned out, and it looks like a sealed unit (the reflector looks like it is fused together with the housing). Does anyone know how to replace the bulb, or do I replace the whole unit?

Yamaha has upgraded the rear oem lights to LED's. They look awesome on our gold G29.

I realize this thread is over 4 years old, but can anyone answer the original question? I'd rather not spend $100+ to convert all my lights to LEDs just because a single tail bulb is burned out.

Replace the whole unit. Yamaha wants about $16. Can also be found at a trailer place.

Ugh! It turns out that replacing the assembly didn't fix the problem. Apparently I've got a wiring issue. *groan*

Problem solved.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a non-working tail light on a G29 would turn out to be a bigger PIA than the spring clips on the rear hubs of a DS. Yeesh what a waste of a day.
