Broken bolt on v glide??
While helping a friend re wire his 88 DS we cross threaded a nut while tightening a wire down and broke the bolt ( post) off. Is the V glide shot or can we replace the post we broke off? It's the top post leading to the high gear ( smallest and thickest coil) if it matters.
Thanks! |

Re: Broken bolt on v glide??
I did the exact same thing about a week ago. Also broke one off one of the bolts holding the v-glide to the frame. Long story short, I mixed up some JB weld, placed it to match the plastic, then re-drilled the holes. Used new bolts and nuts. Seems to be working fine now.

Re: Broken bolt on v glide??
You can buy the V-glide lug/studs individually.
And Lighten up! There is no need to tighten any electrical connection to the point that the bolt sheers... That little stuff just gets 8-10ftpds torque. |
