Crank side just pop it out with a screw driver be careful not to damage the crank surface. Notice the seal location flush with the case. Clean the crank surface where the seal rides and the block bore where seal is located. APPLY just a bit of BLUE loctite in the bore lube the seal area on the crank and install. Now the flywheel side remove the shroud do you still have the injection pump hooked up? If so now would be a great time to loose it and premix gas 128:1 1oz per gallon. That's another story. Reason i'm asking you'll see the crank has a slot for the pump drive. What I did was remove the flywheel nut cut the slot off with a grinder just to make it flat for my puller you'll need a steering wheel puller with 6mm long bolts to fit the flywheel and pop the flywheel off. Now you'll see the pulsar coil and plate assy. notice where the two little screws are located on the plate they will be about centered. Its important to mark the location before you remove the plate assy. ie. 2 small punch marks remove the plate assy. and pop the seal out as before and reinstall as the other side reassemble the pulsar plate assy. and remaining parts and your done.

Yep you should be good to go 120 lbs is good anything 90 lbs would be time for rings. Crank seals should get you going,I'll have to read the past post to renew my memory senior moments it's been over 2 hours LOL

I'll do this again. With much help and information from you guys (racing161) I am ready to
replace the seals in my ezgo 1984 2 cycle 244 cc engine. The compression reads 120 lb.
Is that sufficient or do I need to think about rings since I have it out?
Thanks for your help J C Evans

JC 120 compression is normal anything below 90 would warrant a top end kit around $200. You have the engine out you may want to look in the exh. port and see if there is scoring on the piston other than that you would have to lift the jug to expose the piston. At this point I would change the seals BOTH SIDES and give it a shot. It sounds like you have a common problem rpm in rev and none in forward.
