My old Lester II is like that the dial indicator is time. The charger will go through a normal charge cycle if the dial is turn enough to give it time. On mine I could turnt he dial to 6 hours and if it charged the batteries full in say 5 hours it would just sit there at low amps/voltage till the 6 hour mark then shut off. Mine would start around 24 amps then when close to being done it would be under 5 amps

Depending on the type of EZGO charger, even with a dial it could still be automatic. I had one and found this out. IF it has a "start" before you find numbers on the dial it is an automatic. You turn the dial to start and it will run until the batteries are charged and then stop. The # it stops on is the time it took to charge the batteries. The timer is a fail safe to shut it off if not thru charging in 12 hours. Is the charger green? look on the front for directions!!

sounds like you have the automatic type. If it stops when you put it on after a while. And it won`t restart till you unplug it. Can you post a pic of it? Wait you say it stops after 15 minutes? Is that after you run it a while? Or after a charge and you try to restart it again?

Try turning the timer knob counterclockwise through the " off " position to the " start " position. This should reset the charger. What reading was on the ammeter when you had it charging? It should start on 20amps, or so, and drop to near 0 with new batteries, 3 - 4amps on old ones, after several hours. If yours drops in as short a time as 15min, you may have a bad battery.
