Default hitting the gas peddle and gears slip.

I have a 2011 ezgo txt and i have had it about a year now, ever sense i got it when I take off driving after i have put it into reverse what seems to be the differential slipping up and it jumps. This is my first gas golf cart so i dont know if this is soppost to happen when you take off driving. My father told me that the reason this is happening is because i put it into reverse to many times but i dont think that is what is causing the problem.

Default Re: hitting the gas peddle and gears slip.

im not sure if the gas carts use the same type brake hubs as the electric but mine was doing some thing similar and it turned out to be the brake hubs were shot.

On electric carts the axle shaft engages the brake drum with splines and this is what makes to wheels turn. when the splines rust out it causes slipage or no motion at all.

you can check yours buy looking at the castle nut in the center of the wheel if it is spinning when you have the slipage then you need to replace the brake drums. BE VERY CAREFULL, dont run your self over.

Again i am not sure that the gas has the same set up as the electric

good Luck.
