Nice.

Two questions:

1) How many here would recommend the home made clutch removal idea. Not real keen on spending the money for the correct tool but don't want to create a bigger problem either.

2) There was a post about a seal crossover with a Timkin number. What is this seal for? The crank??? It doesn't say in the post.

Thanks

I’d just buy the oem seal. They’re like 4 bucks. Search around. https://www.kawasakienginestore.com/kawasaki-92049-2199

As fir the tool as long as you use grade 8 or higher for the shaft you’ll be okay for most clutches. But for the ones that are REALLY stuck on there you may still be stuck. Those are usually junk anyway and I bust or cut them off and call it a day.

Plus the price of the clutch tools (1988-up) has really come down. When I needed one 8-9 years ago it seemed like you couldn't hardly find them online for less than $40, now you can grab one for less than $15.

Just wanted to say thank you for these posts, I used this clutch tool along with a blowtorch to finally pop the firmly stuck drive clutch off my 1985 DS.

I see you also upgraded to the new style drive and driven clutch on your 87, I am too on the 85 and wondering what size belt you went with for the new clutches set up?

Thanks again.

Jay

Just order a replacement drive belt for a 1988-1991 Club Car and you'll be all set.

A 37-1/2" belt actually came with it, but it seemed too loose so I assumed I needed a different size. Specs out as an 88+ belt size so will give it a try, thanks!

Aaaand it's actually 1″ Wide and 38 1/2″ O.D - so it's for a 1992+ - that explains it. Will get the 37.5" belt for the '88.
