Default Click only when gas pedal is pushed

I have a 2001 G-20 (just like a G-16 only Limo) gas 301cc and when I push the gas pedal all it does is click 1 time for each time I push it. I drove it all day last Wed. with no problem and it has not done anything like this since I got it 3 years ago. I have been gone a few days and got on it today and this happened. I checked the battery voltage it was 12.75 so I charged it for a few hours and checked it again it was 13.54 thats as far as I've got. I did search and the only thing I found is posted below. It will be Sat. before I can get some help to check anything ( still recuperating from my shoulder surgery ) just thought I'd see if these thing's were all I needed to look at.

Thank's for any help, LURCH!!!!!!

Possible reasons:
1. Loose negative connection. Check negative pole of battery; tighten if loose.
2. Loose connections in solenoid and/or solenoid not properly grounded.
3. Faulty solenoid. Check by shorting the two large solenoid poles.
4. Faulty battery (low voltage; drained)
5. Problem with starter/gen like loose connection, worn carbon brush, etc.

I'd check "sticky" "so your yami won't turn over". Then start looking at brushes in starter.

Start with testing for voltage going thru the solenoid when the pedal is pushed. If you have, for ex. 12.7 volts at battery stud on sol.,then you press the pedal and have the same on the other large post, check the voltage at the other end of the wire at the starter, also check the grounds. If you press the pedal, and no voltage or very little shows on output stud, the solenoid is bad.If you have good voltage at the studs, and at the starter, pull it and check it out,or have it tested. Also try turning the pulley a bit, then press the pedal, the armature could have a bad-spot.My Wifes' does that,I need to get a new armature this winter.Hope this helps.

Also check voltage of the battery when trying to start, the battery may be only taking a surface charge.

Every time mine did that it was the battery posts. I finally filed the posts and inside the clamps, even the wire brush cleaners would not take care of it. And they didn't look dirty really, just gray.

My g29 the start/stop switch went out behind the accelerator. Was getting 12.5 volts comming In but only 2.5 volts comming out. Inside the ball bearing and spring came loose And was causing a short. So bad that the metal casing on the switch itself was so hot you couldn't touch it. Ordered a new switch and all is well.

I got the cart checked out last night and found the problem. The rebuilt starter/gen. I put on when I done the build has a bad spot in it. I got it on the lift looked at a few things, my buddy grabbed the pulley and turned it and (Bam) it started. I will need to take it apart and check the internals and go from there.
Guys, thanks for all your help as always you all are the greatest.

Nothing makes you feel better than figuring it out without paying a repair shop to do it for you.
