Re: ever hear this one????????
OK so the ground hook up right now is engine to frame all by itself, the neg. battery and volt reg.and shift selector to frame. It is a new volt reg. by the way and was working properly with the old s/g.I have 12.5 volts at the battery with the cart off but when I rev it up the volt meyer reads around 160volts and then starts going crazy,I know the s/g can't produce that much voltage so maybe it needs to be grounded differently?

Re: ever hear this one????????
I had the same voltage reading issue. Are you using a digital meter? The people that rebuilt my s/g told me to use an analog meter because some digital meters cannot read fast enough. I was getting crazy readings with a $400 multimeter and 14.2 on an analog meter on my battery toaster.
