Default G1 starter generator from $109 to $924??

So I have been looking around online at prices for my now required new starter generator. I have found prices ranging from $924 to $109 !!!! How is that even possible? Lol! Considering I would be hard pressed to get $500 for this cart in working condition I am obviously leaning to something after market in the mid $150 range. From about z$400 to $675 as we'll. I found one with a 2 year warranty for about $175 and I am leaning that way, but anyone else who hasurchased either an eom or aftermarket for their G1 recently I would love to hear about your experience.

Is yours missing? If not send it to a starter/alternator rebuild shop like lunaindustriesinc.com. If you look around the site, they show the whole process used to completely rebuild a armature, pretty interesting. (see "flat wire dc motor")

MIne is in my opinion destroyed. When I took the tabs off to look at the brushes, there was so much corrosion and rust there was no way to remove the screws without stripping them and there was at least one brush that was corroded in place and another that broke off right where the wire was attached. I assume it was the original so it is like 30 years old. I would rather spend $175 or so and be sure it no longer causes problems.
