Default Internal Photos of Smoking Engine

Our 2005 Workhorse EZ Go Gas (352cc) has been burning through oil for a long time. We sent it to a guy renting space from us (as a repair shop) for repairs, and he put an extension on the oil blow by. I have no idea why or for what purpose. It sort of helped for a little while, but now, it is back to smoking and pouring oil out through the blow by extension when you drive. (I think the oil overflow was just due to overfilling the oil).

It appears the main issue to resolve is the burning oil issue. I tore the top end apart to get good pics, and to check the cylinders. I have not checked for piston clearances (no feeler guage, will pick one up). The pistons do not wiggle when I try to move them back and forth. Maybe just an extreme small amount, like a mil. But I am not even sure of that.

From what I can see in the pictures, it looks like at a minimum the valves need to be replaced. Before I start ordering stuff, I figured it best to ask people who know what they are looking at.

Thanks for any help!!

I do not see anything wrong with the valves from your pix. What was the compresson? It could be you need rings.

30psi in the cylinder that had the most carbon. It was to the point I assumed I was doing something wrong but there had been significant power loss.

Sounds like I should just bite the bullet and get the whole rebuild kit then.

Any recommendations for where to get for best price? I looked around and looks like $289 is the going rate for this engine on most golf cart sites (Google search).

Thanks for the help!

I just did the same thing with mine. Make sure and follow the service guide step by step and use your torque wrench and you will have a factory fresh engine by the end of the weekend! Have fun and post pics

You know that ebay kit is for a 295cc right?

Not going to work too good on a 350.

It cuts off at 2002, was that when the MCI started?

The question is which breather is on it; square or round?
