Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
That is a good price. I have seen new ones go for $200.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
I hope that works well for the original tanks are a bit pricey and I seem to be hard on tanks. If I need another I will sweat blood for a while while making one.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
Don't have the tank yet. Two week backorder. Should be shipped to me at the beginning of next week. I will give updates on this post on how the install goes. Wish me luck.

I second that! Great detective work. It's this kind of thing that helps us all keep these old machines on the road. Or..... grass.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
Well, after waiting two months for the tank that was still showing a status of backordered, I finally opted for the black color instead of white. It cost an extra ten dollars but I believe this is going to be a good fit and I just have to make minor adjustments to secure it properly. I have attached pics to show my original tank when I bought this cart and the new tank just sitting in the tank location not connected.
If anyone is looking for a new plastic tank, check out US Plastics website. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/album...ictureid=22964 |

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
That looks very good and you may not have to have a funnel to fill. The original had two straps to hold it down. Thanks for the tip on US Plastics!

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
The original was in there a ways too. Some gas can spouts don't quite get in there they way you would like em to. Looks like you will be fine.
Bummer about not getting one you can see through. It will make it harder to know what you have in there. For the last several years I have just been doing 1 gallon at a time so it does not end up going bad. Before I drive I just look at the tank through the fender opening and see what I see. |

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
Does anyone still sell those gas caps that have the built in fuel guage? Might not be a bad solution.
