Re: Camp Project "Got Milk"
Lots of oil present on the cylinder walls obviously getting past the rings. Also caked on the valves bad.
Sitting here contemplating what to do. Would really like a rebuild but the costs are right up there with a plowmans 401 swap. Also contemplating the GX 390 swap. I see ebay rebuilds are much cheaper but worried on the reliability of the rebuild. |

Re: Camp Project "Got Milk"
Looks like the secondary clutch is whooped. Grooves worn right in and the spring looks crooked within? I assume definitely not normal.

Got the rest of the body off the cart. Awaiting a day above freezing so I can pressure wash the carcass.

Re: Camp Project "Got Milk"
Confirmed why it was required to rotate the engine off the compression stroke on start ups. Two of the brushes were seized and just too far away from the commutator.

And it continues. Looks like I will need a bore instead of a hone. It catches the nail.

Re: Camp Project "Got Milk"
More cleaning of upper end components. What in the heck is going on with this exhaust valve?

Re: Camp Project "Got Milk"
Find a shop that does glass bead blasting. It shouldn't cost much for a valve. It will also be easier to lap in then starting with a new valve seeing how its already seated.
