Re: 1983 marathon golf cart
EZGO recently came out with a Hybrid (sort of at least) that has a gas generator that charges the battery while driving and extends the range, but I can't remember what it is called.
The DCS and PDS carts have regenerative braking which converts the motor to a generator and uses the drag to slow the cart. The energy generated is fed back into the battery, so that might be considered "charging" the battery while driving. but it is only doing it while slowing down or going down hills. Some guys use solar panels to charge their accessory batteries, but you'd need a panel about the size of a football field to charge a battery pack. I believe some guys have on-board chargers and gas generators, but I think they use them to recharge the batteries while at basecamp rather the while driving, but I might be wrong. |

Called the EZGO Exceed. Here is a link: http://www.ezgo.com/Exceed.html Available on RXV and 2FIVE models and can be retrofitted I think. In the neighborhood of $900 I think. (for the conversion) |
