Rear tires Hard to spin. Resistance in Brakes
Hey all. Just changed the brake pads for my 94 DS. I have the shoe adjuster all the way backed off but its still very hard to get the cover over the drum. I finally got the cover over the drum and the wheel was incredibly hard to spin by hand. The cart will drive with tires on it, but I feel like its not going as fast as it should be because there is possible tension in the brakes. What can I do to fix this?

Re: Rear tires Hard to spin. Resistance in Brakes
Any Ideas would be appreciated. Like I said, I actually took the wheel off to tighten the adjuster back up. I'd been driving it several weeks since the new brake pads and the cart was actually having a hard time stopping after getting up to speed but then the cover was incredibly hard to get off and would not spin freely or even after I punched the gas. The rear tire also squeaks loudly enough to where its annoying.

And I THINK those shoes are different , with a "leading" shoe and a "trailing" shoe....

Yeah and just to make sure that wasnt the problem I loosened the bolt underneath the cart that controls the brake pedal tension. Was that what you were talking about?

I read that in the last part of the forum you posted.. That may be the problem. The longer shoe goes towards the front of the cart?

Re: Rear tires Hard to spin. Resistance in Brakes
I took them off last night and looked and didn't see where they were marked. I also held them all side by side and they all appeared to be the same length. Do all golf carts have drum brakes that are leading and trailing or do only certain ones?

Re: Rear tires Hard to spin. Resistance in Brakes
could you have put the longer ones on one wheel, and shorter on the other?
