testing batteries
Just purchased a 82 club car 36 volt electric and it's losing power rather quickly. I tested each battery with a meter and batteries 1,2,3,4,6 showed a range of 6.1 to 6.4 volts. However battery 5 showed 5.9. kinda new to the cart world and was wondering if its the batteries that re my problem or should I check other stuff too.

Re: testing batteries
Full charge and then sit for 12 hours to get proper readings......then check under "load"......get a load tester or leave volt meter hook up while driving to see volt drop......but , yes , batteries are almost always the problem.....

Re: testing batteries
Basically , every single thing in it that has a wire going to it would have to be replaced with something that has an even bigger wire going to it.....those older carts won't handle any voltage increase, which you need for speed.....
check under the site sponsors for " Scotty b" as he has the kits to convert |
