charging inside?

Do I need to pull the cart outside of the garage to charge the batteries?

And, do I have to take the battery caps off before the charge?

The cart is new to me and I don't have a owners manuel. In fact I don't have any manuels, but would like to get them all, but where?

It is a 2004 Club Car, if it matters on the charging.

FYI - I charge mine in a 1100 sqft garage. It sets off the Carbon Dioxide detectors if I shut the garage doors. If I charge over night I move detector so it does not call the fire station. I can't leave the door open because of thieves and I can't leave cracked because of animals. Contemplating a huge exhaust fan...

Well that's good to know.
I have other stuff in my garage includeing 2 Harleys. I asked cause I was worried about the off gases and the paint and chrome.

Did my first charge yesterday outside. But I want to leave it on all the time.

I do that to the bikes but they are little battery tenders. In fact, I leave them on all winter also.

There are some fairly inexpensive battery tenders available in 48v also, that can be used to re-charge your batteries if the cart is not used too heavily (eg. one round of golf or less). With golf use, my pack is recharged well within a 16hr period then goes into float mode. I suspect there would be less gassing since they only push 2 amps (and some are even less) - but I don't know how much less gassing there would be.

What I can't tell you though, is whether recharging with a tender will mess up your "modern" OBC's information (on board computer dedicated to monitoring charge) which monitors charge levels in Club Cars. Recharging with a maintainer has made absolutely zero difference to how my OBC works when I use the OEM charger - but mine is an "ancient 1996" OBC - which is less sophisticated than more modern ones.
