Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
Odd looking glass bubble attached to the AC input. Appears to be a fuse possibly. Feels very loose. Took it off and wire immediately broke. Maybe try it with the wires connected directly together?
EDIT: Looks like that was it. Clamped the wires together, plugged it in and it started charging. Now, do I need to order the specific fuse assembly, or can I simply install a generic inline fuse? looks fairly stout, any idea what amperage it should be? Thanks... Ed |

Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
That weird glass bubble fuse is a DC fuse, 30 amps.
RevolutionGolfCars.com probably have it. Is this what it looks like: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...rger-102273701 Last edited by Sergio; 06-12-2019 at 07:04 PM.. Reason: Originally thought of a different fuse. |

Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
Picked up a Club Car DS 48v tow/run I think around a 2000/2001. It’s been sitting for a while outside I don’t really know the history of it. I pressure washed as much funk off the cart that I could, so it’s likely something got damaged from the water or the timing has just turned out that something is not allowing the cart to charge. I replaced the batteries with Duracell batteries from SAMs. The cart runs fine however when I got to charge the batteries I’m having issues with the charger to kick on. I’ve disconnected the batteries and usually when I re connect I can get the charger to kick on briefly.
Tow to Run a moment later I get a loud click Plug the charger in and one of two things will happen: It will charge the kick off then charge again and turn off below 15 on the meter The voltage measured from the positive and negative wires that travel aft was over 49. Or the battery light will flash on then off for a few seconds until I reset the tow/run switch. Bad OBC or faulty wiring? Also to note the I’ve blown a few headlight bulbs, the wiring seems old and has a lot of stray spade connectors on it, at this point I’m going to just re wire the lights doesn’t seem too much to? Thanks |

Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
If you are concerned that is ~may be a faulty OBC, then just bypass it for testing.
Run a 10g jumper wire from the back of the charge receptacle to the main pack negative post. Also take the grey sense wire coming off the charge receptacle and run it down to the main pack negative post. Then when you plug in the charger, if it works (starts) correctly, you have a faulty OBC. And this is only for testing, you can not leave it that way for long periods as the charger will not cut off on its own and there is no algorithm present. |

Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
Will a OBC still work if the controller is fried? I know my controller is fried and I know my charger works if I jumper it. What I don't know is if the OBC needs a signal from the controller to turn on and if so can I jumper that?

Re: Charging System Troubleshooting
The OBC is independent of its self and will still work. (It does contain a Lockout feature that disables the solenoid on a Series cart or power signal to the controller on an IQ cart.)
