Re: DCS is it a mistake
Yup AND it still has two $30 micro-switches on the F&R
But yeah, they do produce more torque than a series or pds Until you do something crazy like up your voltage I would never run one without a voltmeter in the dash. They are notorious low voltage controller killers .... I hear that problem is much more common to the stock units than the Aftermarket. But I have seen blown Alltrax controllers come out of DCS lifted carts..... One word "VOLTMETER" |

Re: DCS is it a mistake
Good info Scott, if your going to change the controlller and you might upgrade later to a hi speed & torque motor what would be the highest Amp controller from alltrax you would put in? Also your comment on the F/R switch should that always be changed with the controller.

Re: DCS is it a mistake
Controller, 4 ga wires and solenoid are all you need. Scotties reference to the F/R was where the DCS carts use two micro switches for the forward and reverse. No need to change those, unless they have failed. Stock motor is also best for most applications...

Re: DCS is it a mistake
I would use a 600amp Alltrax DCX600 if you are looking for MAXimum power. It is good for 24 - 48v systems. And all but the biggest (12hp torque) motors. So you will need to know What motor you want to go to (if you do) before you pick your controller.
On the F&R ? In a sepex system the controller does the actual reverse switching. This means the cart's directional selector can stay stock. You only need to upgrade the F&R in a series cart. What exactly is the intended use load and terrain in which your cart will be used? |

Re: DCS is it a mistake
It really all depends on if you want a "good" cart and spend $1,500.00 (incl 6 - 6 volt batteries) or go all out "crazy cart" to 48 volt and spend $3,000,00+++

Re: DCS is it a mistake
Both are great comments. I've got $500 invested. and wanted to keep the whole change over to under $2400. So I guesss I'm goling with the Controller, Solenoid, plus the new batts. Cart already has 4AWG wires. Then the tires plus lift kit before fall hunting season.
