Swamper, What tires you need depends on what you are going to use the cart for and how much you want to spend. Just like your car or truck! There are a lot of different types and sizes for the various lifts available. The '94 body looks good.
If you are going with 48v now is the best time to do it. Buy the batteries and a solenoid and a charger and you should be good to go. A change to controller can be made later. This allows you to build in steps ; financially speaking. OR just go for it! I have a 48v charger for sale.......

Good advice from all the above. First decide what your intentions are for the old girl. She looks like she's been rode hard and put away wet but there is no reason why she can't return to her former glory!

We need to patronize ours sponsors here but keep your eye on ebay for things you need for your cart. Used tires and wheels are readily available anywhere you look.

I'm mostly curious about the body being a direct fit, and what parts to look for to make it 48v, and what to check out on the current stuff,

my plan is to learn as much about this as possible, getting it driveable first with what is there (if it all works that is LOL
then what it take to upgrade to 48v

I eventually what to convert a car over to an electric driven motor, this cart is my teacher, plus I can use it up at my cottage when it's done LOL

I don't believe that body will be a bolt up to your Marathon frame. That body appears to be a Medalist plastic body cart and I think the frame changed when EZGo converted from steel to plastic bodies. Someone please confirm this!!

Of course, anything is possible given the will, tools, time, and $$.

I was referring to making your cart "look" like a 94 Marathon not a 94 Medalist. Sorry.

The medalist are the "rounded corner" metal bodies which look very much like the plastic body pictured above. They were made predominantly in 94,95, & 96. Metal and plastic were made in 96 I might add. The Marathon were the square bodies with the plastic front lip on the cowl.

Hope this helps, and if I have missed a piece of this info, someone please correct me.

By the way, the body pictured abpve is newer than a 96. I'm gonna say about 2000 because of the inner bagwell lining. Even the 96 had a 6 piece lining where the newer ones around 2000 had a 1 piece liner like the one pictured above. Also note that the rounded medalist bodies had a smaller plastic lip at the front of the cowl too.

NO.
Controllers are very voltage specific critters! So are solenoids. You are gonna have to decide which voltage you are gonna run.....
