Rubber mallet. Hit it evenly around the rim a few times

Re: Steering wheel removal
It had to of been, it is a newer style steering wheel. Gwagon, what is the serial number?
Never mind, I found it. You have an 89 and someone put a newer steering wheel on it. I am having the same issue with my 03. It is a common issue |

Re: Steering wheel removal
Used two different pullers, and beat with hammers and mallets all to no avail. In the end I heated up the hub with a turbo torch.I almost got hit in the face with when it came off so easily after heating.PS I had hose and fire extingisher ready if things went awry.

Re: Steering wheel removal
Get a two jaw gear puller. Put the wide jawed side under the back edge of the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock. Leave the steering wheel nut screwed on only a thread or two, then screw the stud of the puller down against the center of the column. Put some pressure on it by tightening the puller, the plastic steering wheel may begin to bend slightly. Once you have some pressure on it, hit the end of the puller stud with a hammer. It may take a few times of hitting and slightly re-tightening but it should pop loose - have done more than I care to recall this way and it eventually will work but persistence is key. Soaking the area where the wheel slides over the splines in PBBlaster or WD40 has helped a lot too.
