Default 97 elec club car stopped going fwd or bwd

Over this past weekend we went down a pretty long hill and it got going rather fast. Once we got to the bottom and our speed was less than its capable of going, it simply wouldn't go any longer. Not forward or backward. It was fully charged. No loose connections I can find. I hear a click when I try to go forward, but nothing else. Suggestions? No problems up till this point.

48 volt or 36? Do you have a rocker switch in a black plastic box for your forward/reverse selector or do you have a lever?

48 volt. It's a black plastic rocker centered behind my legs.

It's a lever.

Motor over revved. Possible motor damage.

I agree with Scotty. A vehicle with a Lever for F&R is a series car and doesn't have any kind of electronic motor braking to keep the motor within operating range. If you were hauling it down hill you probably exploded the armature. It may be time for a new motor.

I wouldn't trust it much past 25mph. Even less than that if the internal armature weight has been slung off at one point in it's life. A lot of them have.
